When I told a friend that I had preordered a Tesla Cybertruck, she wanted to know why. I told her, but the whole thought process is worth writing down, so here's all the details.
Cassidy definitely needs a car, and needs a little help getting one that is worth it. Cheap cars have been a lot of trouble.
The plan is for repayment in on a monthly basis after a few other bills have been reduced or otherwise alleviated.
This will also help me some as I won't be solely responsible for transporting Malcolm to and from the farm. It has been a little stressful to not have backup if the vehicle I can use has issues.

Ever since I read Ayn Rand's novella Anthem, I have been thinking about the house that Prometheus finds. From my memory, it had been abandoned for a few hundred years yet it was still fully functional.
I was doing really well when I moved in. I had finally found a space where I was alone and I could concentrate and do real work. I got some website jobs and some other work that paid the rent - for a while. But then the situation changed.

In the last few weeks, I've been having really bad cramps in my calves that last for days. I initially figured they were mostly a symptom of the stress I've been dealing with. I've noticed that when I'm around people I tense up, and have only been able to relax completely after a good night's sleep in a room where I'm alone.
Back in early 2011 I got the first co-branding order for Shire Silver. When cutting the metal there is always some error, so I cut the pieces slightly larger than the expected weight so that the smallest ones would still be at least that. So the initial estimate for the amount of metal needed was off by some percent, and I was short. Since then I've not only improved my cutting accuracy, but also improved my metal requirements estimates.
Two days ago I had a gloriously productive day (compared to recent history anyway). I went for a jog, made a great breakfast, and got a lot of work done. But yesterday sucked. It started out OK with another good jog and a nice breakfast, but the rest of the day I was unable to get into gear. Pretty much the entire day was a waste and I was certainly more irritable.
When I moved into the domes, I hade a deal with the then owner to sell him much of my stuff for rent payments. I didn't live there long, so when I left there was a balance in my favor. At about the same time the place got sold, and from what I understand the debt owed to me was also transferred to the new owner.
This debt is mostly for rent, but for some business services provided as well.
And this is finally paid off.
Jack was another Porc Manor renter of mine. He had suffered a heart attack and needed some relaxation and reduced stress. We worked out a deal whereby he could pay his rent in hours of work around the house, dollars, or precious metals.
It took Jack a while to get well, and as he did so he started repaying his rent debt, although at a pace that wasn't sufficient to get him out of the hole. He has made some headway and every now and then he makes a small payment.
