Back when I was a landlord, renting out rooms in Little Minnesota, my Porc Manor, I had about 30 renters over the course of 3 years. One of them was Anthony "Chopsy" Bonk. Chopsy was a good guy that needed help but had pretty low self-esteem when it came to getting jobs.
He had a hard time getting work, in part due to living in a place where you really need a car but for most of the time he was there he didn't have one. When he did manage to get a car, it was an expensive lemon that failed him.
To shorten the long story, Chopsy fell way behind on the rent and eventually moved back in with his parents. And while I'd love to get repaid and could really use it, I'm neither expecting it nor am I overly concerned about it. If I have to write it off as a charitable donation, that'll be acceptable to me.
