I'm slowly working on updating the site. Things might be a bit goofy for a little while.

New walk route - now rottweiler free!

Wed, 10/15/2008 - 12:41 -- webmaster
Map of the route

This morning I tried a new route to take Otis for a walk/run. Much better views and less issues with loose rottweilers. Its also 5.7 miles, more than twice the 2.4 miles of the old route.

I didn't track the time it took, but I did run a significant portion of it. By the end of it Otis was tired but happy.

Tomorrow I plan on taking along my phone/camera. Right now the leaves are right around peak color, and some video and pictures would be fantastic.

Busy as a beaver

Sun, 09/28/2008 - 19:03 -- webmaster

As the video partially illustrates, I have been busy. I built the pathway down to the shore through some bushes in a couple of months. I had to hack out the trail (which had regrown after Roger moved back to Minnesota) and then I built it up to get it above the normal waterline.

Springing back into action

Mon, 04/21/2008 - 00:09 -- webmaster

After being sick for over a week, I'm finally getting into Spring. We got the boat out, and Otis has been enjoying standing on the prow while we do all the work. We're going to start working on the range again soon, probably this week. Today we had more people over for the "church of John Browning", including some kids who got to shoot under the supervision of an NRA certified trainer.

Manly Buns

Fri, 02/22/2008 - 12:31 -- Jack Shimek

The kind of buns a man likes!

Ron asked for some really manly, hearty buns for his burgers, so we went to work on it in the lab (Lil' Minnesota's kitchen).

First, we got a recipe from Bread University online for Rustic Whole Wheat Walnut Bread and tweaked it a little with each batch until this 6th evolution, where Ron says we've arrived at perfectly manly buns.

The yield says 6, but you can almost get 7 out of this recipe.

This recipe also will make 2 small loafs for sandwich bread or a big honkin' round bread cooked on a stone.

Location Finally Finalized

Mon, 02/04/2008 - 15:45 -- rhelwig

Well, we finally have a "real" address. It seems that once a road has at least three houses on it, it needs to be officially named for emergency services reasons. Since the newest neighbors have finally gotten their house built, it is finally time.

The new official address is:
6 Freeses Pond Road
Deerfield NH 03037

Of course, the post office still won't deliver mail to this address; so you'll have to continue to use the PO box when sending snail mail. (I can hardly wait until we can end that monopoly!)
