Save at Amazon

You can save at least 5% and easily as much as 15% on most things you can get at if you buy them through Purse. You don't need to get Amazon Prime, yet you get almost as fast shipping.

Purse is a service that lets you put orders up for bidding. People who have Amazon credits that they can't use for themselves will buy your order for you. They use their credits, and get paid in bitcoin. This works for them because they might not be able to spend their Amazon credits due to their country's laws, for example, yet they can earn Amazon credits.

So, someone who has credits they can't use but wants bitcoin will place your order. Purse holds your bitcoin in escrow. When you receive your package, you update your order on Purse's site, and they release the bitcoin.

If you don't already have bitcoin, and want an easy way to get some, Coinbase is a decent way to go. They are one of the biggest and oldest bitcoin businesses. They are also fully compliant with banking laws, so anything you do through them will be available to taxing and investigative authorities. If you want to buy some bitcoin (or other cryptocurrency) without it being reported, you'll need to find another source - there are plenty.

If you use this link to sign up for Coinbase, we both will get something from it. (I think we both get $5 or $10 worth of bitcoin once you've bought $100 worth of it.)

Now you can use your credit/debit card to buy some bitcoin. You can also use your bank account to transfer dollars in.

Once you have some bitcoin, you should sign up for Purse. Please do that at this link:

If I remember correctly, we both get $5 worth of bitcoin in our accounts when you do this and you've spent $100 worth.

When you are done creating your account, you'll need to add funds. Go to your account's wallet. You'll see a QR code and underneath that will be "SEND BITCOIN (BTC) TO THIS ADDRESS" and under that is a long weird string of letters and numbers. That's the bitcoin address to send the bitcoin to in order to add it to your account. Copy that, then go to your Coinbase (or other bitcoin wallet) and send the amount of money you'll need to that address.

Sending bitcoin is pretty easy once you're used to it, but at first it seems very arcane. Don't stress about it, take your time, and read the sites' help guides. Maybe find some good videos to watch.

It can take as long as an hour for the bitcoin you send to be fully available. That might seem like a long time, but it is a fully completed transaction when it is done. This is very unlike a bank transfer or a credit card transaction, both of which can be reversed for as long as 30 days.

When the money you sent to your Purse wallet is all there, you can now place your order. Search for the items you want on Purse's site, and add them to your cart. When you check out you can select how much of a discount you want. The larger the discount, the longer it might take for someone to place the order for you. But if you stick with the 5% default, the Purse service itself will accept and place your order - likely within an hour or two.

When your order has been placed, an amount needed to pay for the order will be put into escrow.

When you receive the package, inspect everything to make sure you got it all in good shape. If it is all good, go back to your order on Purse and click on the big blue "Confirm Delivery" button. That will pop up a box where you can check off each item you ordered. If some of the items you ordered were delivered, but not all of them, you should still check off the ones you got.

If there are any problems, or if you want to send messages for some reason, you can do so under your order.
