Born in Austin MN in 1964.
Attended Shaw Elementary, Ellis Middle School, and Austin Central High School. After four years in the Army as a Pershing Missile Crewman I went to Riverside Technical Institute (called Austin Community College at the time - Austin TX has one under that name) and then on to the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.
I worked in the tech industry for a couple decades. I loved it at first but by the end it wasn't fulfilling anymore.
I was a vegetarian for 17 years. When I first started it I was reasonably healthy from the Army regimen and it felt good. But after 17 years I was weak, fat, and had developed a B12 deficiency. My mental state wasn't all that good either, which probably affected my feelings and capabilities about the tech work I'd been doing.
Around the time I had a son I was basically forced by my life situation to give up the vegetarian diet. That probably saved my life. I'm now exploring Keto, Carnivore, Paleo, etc to try to find out just exactly what I should be eating.
Currently I am working part time as a courier, delivering blood and urine samples to labs. I am also working part time as a teacher, which is chaotic but fulfilling.
